Little Pumpkins Half Term Kids Club

Volunteer on a FOOD BUS in Lambeth and Wandsworth!

Brixton People’s Kitchen and Be Enriched’s The Food Bus are teaming up to provide 4 days of free activities for their local communities over the October half term across Lambeth and Wandsworth. 

​

Each day offers a free lunch for all who attend, fun pumpkin carving workshops and fancy dress is encouraged for all kids, parents and volunteers! 

​

As holiday hunger worsens during the cost of living crisis, three million children are at risk of going hungry during the school holidays. Our Kids clubs will give children and young people access to vital provisions before returning back to school again.

​

Plus, you will get to spend time on London's first-ever double-decker Food Bus! You will also receive a delicious meal. 

​

Volunteer role:

​

We need help to make our Little Pumpkins Kids Club a success! As a Halloween Helper, you will help set up our workshops and assist the Brixton People’s Kitchen and Food Bus staff throughout the day. All volunteers will be encouraged to join in the fun and take part in the activities alongside families. A list of duties includes: 

 

  • Monitoring attendance and checking in our club members

  • Setting up The Food Bus and workshops

  • Helping to make lunch for children and families

  • Helping to manage the food shop and selling of food to families 

  • Clearing away workshops/activities 

  • Helping to keep the bus clean and tidy throughout the day

  • Chatting with families and young people to make sure everyone is having a great time!
